Welcome to Tasmania's Home Page. We have painters in the North, North East, North West and the South of our beautiful state. In the late 1800's early painters had to have their china shipped to Melbourne to have work fired. In the 1970's a resurgence in the art saw teachers and students form local and state associations. These days most teachers and students have their own kiln.
There many fine examples of this early porcelain to be found in the museums in Launceston and Hobart. These are well worth a visit
